We are so excited to have reached this milestone. God is so good isn’t He! I am amazed as I look back and see the things He has done in Jaco. This month serves as the latest reminder of His goodness and grace towards us. You see, this month is our five year anniversary as a church.
Now that may not seem like much, but to us it is nothing short of miraculous. It shows that God truly does choose to use the foolish things of the world to bring glory to His name.
In some ways it feels like we have been doing this forever. There has been a lot of
growth and change in the last five years. Certainly more than we expected, even though we knew that Jaco was a transient town. In other ways, it seems like we just got here. Because of the constant change we have laid and relaid the foundation more than once. But this last year has been different. It has been solidifying. There have been some really great changes. We now have full time staff members working with us. We have a solid, consistent, and faithful group of believer’s attending and stepping up to serve.
New ministry is happening, lives are being changed.
We have also finished the transition to becoming a fully bilingual church. Everything we do is now done in both English and Spanish and the people love it. We have really been blessed by how well the Spanish speakers and English speakers have embraced each other. They’ve embraced the idea of worshipping in each others language. Christ is truly making CCJ His body!
So while we have seen great things happen this past year, and over the last five years, we aren’t getting caught up in reveling in the past.
God has done great things indeed. But we believe that the best is yet to come.
So we look ahead in faith, excited to see what opportunities the Lord has for us today. Excited to see what He has in store for the future. To God be the Glory!
Happy Anniversary CC Jaco!
In His Grace,
Mike
